Add Migam to your LiveChat app and let your Deaf and hard-of-hearing customers communicate with you in their preferred language. All your customers need is an internet connection and access to a camera and microphone, and they can sign right in the Chat Widget. Currently, Migam supports Polish and Ukrainian Sign languages.

Increasing accessibility means expanding the reach of your products and services. This improves not just the number of chats, but also chat satisfaction. No one would intentionally make their customers jump through hoops to get in touch, and Migam helps you remove another hoop between you and your customers. This is just good business.

What is Migam?Link icon

Migam offers Sign language interpreters to businesses and institutions.

The Deaf are a cultural minority in their countries of origin, and in most cases, the official language of their countries is not their mother tongue, but a language that in order to use, they need to study as a foreign language.

With Migam, you provide customer service to the Deaf and hard of hearing community in their preferred language, thus removing an obstacle between you and your customers.

Using any web browser on any device with a camera, microphone, and internet access, Migam Interpreter allows users to establish a video call connection with a Polish or Ukrainian Sign language interpreter.

How do you install Migam?Link icon

The installation couldn’t be any easier. Log in to your LiveChat account, and go to Marketplace.

1
Find Migam and click on Add to cart.
2
Go to your cart and finalize the purchase.
3
Select Accept to accept app permissions.
4
Allow Migam to access your account.

Next, provide the phone number that Migam interpreters will call to get in touch with your agents.
**TIP**: It’s best to have a dedicated number for this purpose, rather than have the interpreter call your helpline.

The installation is now complete, and your customers can now request Sign language interpretation in chat.

With the integration installed, every time a customer starts a chat, an automatic message offering Sign language interpretation will appear in the Chat Widget.

The message contains a button that connects the customer with the PSL or USL interpreters. If the customer misses it, your agent can send it at any time from the Details section.

The language of the message and the button depends on the language of the browser from which the customer connects. At the moment, English, Polish, Ukrainian, and Japanese are supported.

After selecting the Connect to interpreter button, the customer needs to allow access to their microphone and camera.

Once the connection is established, there is a private message in the LiveChat Agent app. The interpreter then calls the number you provided when setting up Migam on your license and can begin translating.

Since the rest of the chat happens over the phone, remember to tag these chats with a dedicated tag. You can also create a summary of the chat and send it in the chat as a private note.
